Critical Reflection

After going through the Effective Communication module, my biggest takeaway was that I learned how to become a more effective writer and communicator. From the lessons that I have attended, I learned the importance of paraphrasing instead of lifting and quoting directly from the article which leads up to writing a summary reader response. I also learned how to write a technical report, from the flow of presenting the report to the details that were needed to be included in the report. When applying presentation skills, I learned how to grab the audience attention.

Even though the module has ended, I will always remember what I have learned as it will help me in the future when I enter the workforce.  I will become a more effective writer as I am more aware of my use of language and style of the writing. I will also know to present my report in a clear and concise format where my future colleagues will understand.

As what everyone always says, ‘learning is a lifelong journey’. After this module, I hope to brush up on my English and improve my use of the language. I also hope to expose myself to more writing styles and techniques. As for presentation, I think I can have more confidence in myself when presenting. During the questions and answers part of the presentation, I hesitated even though I was sure of my answer. I feel that this is something I can work on and improve on in the future.
